The Altus High School Band is the "Heartbeat" of Altus, Oklahoma. The citizens of Altus look forward to hearing and watching "That Altus Band" in its many school and community performances. The band is made up of two basic components; Marching Band and Concert Band. Within these components, "That Altus Band" gives many performances at football games, pep rallies, parades, public concerts, All School Production, recitals, and fundraisers. "That Altus Band is a competitive group competing at multiple marching band contests, OSSAA State concert contest, along with annual performances and contests throughout the Nation. "That Altus Band" is proud to represent Altus Public Schools and the City of Altus on a national level. "That Altus Band" has a long history of tradition and consistently receives superior ratings at competitions. Any student with prior instrumental experience is invited and welcome to join our family.

With Altus being the home of Altus Air Force Base, we have military families moving to our community all throughout the school year and summer break. We are always excited to receive new band members through the military. You are always welcome in our band family. If you know that you are being transferred to Altus, please call one of our band directors in advance so that we can plan ahead for your arrival and let us welcome you properly.
